Construction of Hostels For SC And OBC Students

Proposals for construction of hostels for SC and OBC students are received from State Governments under the Schemes, Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojna (BJRCY) and Construction of Hostels for OBC Boys and Girls.
State-wise details of proposals received from States/ UTs and other implementing agencies for construction of SC and OBC hostels during the last three years are at Annexure-I and II, respectively.
All proposals, complete in all respects, have been approved and admissible central assistance released. The deficiencies noticed in respect of incomplete proposals have been communicated to the implementing agencies concerned.
Under these Schemes, State-wise allocation is not made. State-wise details of hostels sanctioned, central assistance sanctioned & released for construction of hostels under the respective Schemes during 2016-17 are at Annexure-III and IV.
Under BJRCY, eligible central assistance is provided to the implementing agencies for construction of new hostel buildings/ expansion of existing hostel facilities for SC students. The State Governments/ UT Administrations send their proposals to the Department as per their requirement and no complete proposal from the State Government of Gujarat for construction of hostels under the Scheme has been received during the last three years.
