About 6,000 NGOs have been served show cause notices for not submitting annual returns for various Financial Years for the period 2010-11 to 2015-16.  The details of these NGOs is available on website www.fcraonline.nic.in of Ministry of Home Affairs.

As per FCRA, 2010 and rules made thereunder, every person who receives foreign contribution under FCRA, 2010, shall submit a signed or digitally signed report electronically online with scanned copies of income and expenditure statement, receipt and payment account and balance sheet for every financial year within nine months of the closure of the financial year.

The details of receipts and utilization of foreign funds are being furnished by NGOs in their Annual Returns.  The same are monitored in accordance with the provisions of FCRA 2010, and rules made thereunder.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to question by Shrimati Hema Malini and Dr. Bhola Singh in the Lok Sabha today.
