In addition, other benefits such as liberalised family pension, death-cum-retirement-gratuity, etc. are granted as per extant rules.
The ex-gratia /compensation is paid to civilians/Security Forces personnel killed as per extant guidelines of Central Armed Police Forces/State Government.
The preventive steps taken by the Government are as under:-
· All the forward posts are adequately strengthened to withstand enemy fire. Besides there are well-established Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) to safeguard against enemy fire to minimize own casualties.
· Appropriate retaliation to the ceasefire violations, as required, is carried out by Indian Army. In addition, all violations of ceasefire are taken up with Pakistan authorities at the appropriate level through the established mechanism of hotlines, flag meetings as well as weekly talks between the Directorate Generals of Military Operations of the two countries.
There have been no armed intrusions by the enemy across the Line of Control in the State of Jammu & Kashmir in recent past. The details of terrorist-initiated incidents against the Army are as under:-
