Allocation to Family Planning

Under National Health Mission (NHM), family planning is one of the major activities like other activities. The funds are approved activity-wise but are allocated/released to States pools-wise under NHM. Hence, a statement indicating SPIP (State Programme Implementation Plan) Approval and Expenditure towards the activity family planning under NHM State-wise during the previous year and current financial year is given below:

The above data of Family Planning is comprises of Female Sterilisation, NSV camps, Compensation for male & female sterilisation, Spacing Methods, RMNCH/FP Counselors (HR), Family Planning Training, BCC/IEC Activities towards FP, Procurement of equipment & Drugs for F.P., Printing of IUCD cards, FP manuals, guidelines etc., under NHM Scheme.

Government has introduced new contraceptives recently and the same is being rolled out in all States/UTs. Additional budgetary provision has been made in State NHM PIP (Programme Implementation plan) for the F.Y. 2017-18. Further, the Government has also proposed to increase the budget allocation under NHM to Ministry of Finance.
The Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), ShFaggan Singh Kulaste stated this in a written reply in the LokSabha here today.
