Sports Minister Vijay Goel Urges J& K Chief Minister to Provide adequate sporting infrastructure for athletes in the field of Kickboxing in J & K.

FOLLOWING IS THE TEXT OF LETTER WRITTEN TO J&K CHIEF MINISTER Ms MEHBOOBA MUFTI SAEED BY MINISTER OF STATE (I/C) FOR YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS SHRI VIJAY GOEL: 

“As you may be aware, Miss Tajamul Islam, an 8-year-old Kashmiri girl, who scripted history by winning Gold medal in World Kickboxing Championship 2016, held in Italy in the Sub-Junior category, has released a video Link:https://twitter.com/ANI_news/status/842269142828773377/ video/l) in which she has urged the government to take steps towards creating indoor facilities for the athletes in the state of J&K. She is also seen in the video requesting the government to improve the state of Ali Sports Academy, where she trains. 

The Government of India has funded establishment of Multi-Purpose Halls in all districts in J & K under the special package. 

I shall be grateful if you could kindly look into the matter personally and take necessary steps towards providing adequate sporting infrastructure for athletes in the field of Kickboxing in the state of J & K. 

In case Miss Tajamul Islam needs some specific assistance as individual sports person, the Government of India will be happy to consider the request.’’
