More than 19000 women & children reported to have been trafficked during 2016

The Ministry of Women & Child Development is implementing Ujjawala scheme which is a comprehensive scheme for rescue, rehabilitation and re-integration of victims of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.
The number of trafficked women and children during 2015 and 2016 in the country, State-wise including the states of North-East, as per data provided by the National Crime Records Bureau, Ministry of Home affairs is as given below:
