Mera Yuva Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised Yuva Samvaad at ITI, Udhampur, on October 31, 2026. The programme brought together young citizens and public representatives to promote democratic awareness, encourage participation and highlight the role of youth in nation-building. Over 100 students and young citizens participated in the event.

Held as part of the nationwide Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvaad initiative, being organised across 500 universities, colleges and institutions from October 26 to November 5, 2026, the programme was attended by MLA Udhampur Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj and Youth Icon Shri Nitish Sharma.
Addressing the participants, MLA Udhampur Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj highlighted the importance of electoral awareness among young people, particularly voter registration, electoral literacy and the maintenance of accurate electoral rolls. He encouraged the youth to understand their rights and responsibilities and participate actively in democratic processes.
An interactive dialogue between students and MLA Udhampur Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj was a key feature of the programme. Participants raised questions and shared their views on issues relating to youth participation in governance, civic responsibility and the role of first-time voters.
The programme concluded with the Loktantrik Pledge, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to democratic values and responsible citizenship. The vote of thanks was delivered by District Youth Officer Udhampur, Ms. Pavit Bani.
Through Yuva Samvaad, Mera Yuva Bharat seeks to provide young citizens with a platform to engage with democratic institutions and contribute to discussions on governance and nation-building. The initiative aims to channel the ideas, aspirations and civic responsibilities of young people towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
