The Central Information Commission (CIC), as earlier years, has undertaken a series of activities under the ‘Hindi Pakhwada 2026’, aimed at promoting the use of Hindi in official work, with the active participation of officers and employees.

‘Hindi Pakhwada’

The primary objective of Hindi Pakhwada is to ensure the use of Hindi in day-to-day administration, thereby fulfilling the basic tenets of the Official Languages Act, 1963, by encouraging employees across government offices to maximize its usage in official communications.

In line with the Government’s directives, the Central Information Commission observed Hindi Pakhwada, 2026 from 14^th to 28^th September 2026 by conducting various activities such as Essay Writing and Extempore Poetry on “हिंदी भाषा और राष्ट्रीय एकता, स्वच्छ भारत अभियान - सामूहिक योगदान बिना समाधान असंभव, नेपाल त्रासदी - प्राकृतिक आपदा या मानव की असीमित उपभोग-लालसा का परिणाम, ब्रिक्स समिट और वैश्विक प्रभाव, आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता) से उत्पन्न नैतिक दुविधाएँ और उसका रोजगार पर प्रभाव” on 15.09.2026, Hindi Noting and Drafting on 17.09.2026, Translation on 18.09.2026, Quiz on 21.09.2026, Extempore Speech on 23.09.2026 and Debate on the topic on “कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता : रोजगार सृजन का साधन या बेरोजगारी का कारण” on 25.09.2026. The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation, with nearly 120 employees across different positions taking part in said activities. Also, to encourage wider participation, Non-Hindi Speaking employees were also invited to participate in these activities and were suitably rewarded for their enthusiastic contribution. Furthermore, officials and staff members of the CIC were encouraged to process official files and daks in Hindi as well, to the maximum extent possible.

 

Prize Distribution Ceremony on 30^th September, 2026.

To encourage and motivate the participants, a Prize Distribution Ceremony relating to competitions/activities organized during ‘Hindi Pakhwada 2026’ in CIC was held on 30 September, 2026 at the CIC Seminar Hall, New Delhi. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Information Commissioner and was attended by the senior officers and staff of the Commission. Hon’ble Chief Information Commissioner presented the awards to the winners of various competitions held under ‘Hindi Pakhwada 2026’. The winners were awarded cash prizes and Certificates of Appreciation (Prashasti Patra). The initiatives reflect the Commission’s continuing commitment towards promoting the use of Hindi in official functioning and encouraging officers and employees to contribute towards the objectives of good governance.
