The Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, organised an expert lecture on “Swachhata se Samriddhi” on 24 September 2026 as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, being observed from 17 September 2026 to 2 October 2026, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

The lecture was delivered by Ms. Kulvinder Kour, Director, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, West Delhi, Peeragarhi, along with Mrs. Archana, General Secretary, INDIA-AIDS (NGO), Dwarka, New Delhi, at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi. The officers and officials of this Department actively participated in the programme.

During the session, the speakers highlighted the importance of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene in promoting a healthy and dignified life. They emphasised that cleanliness is a collective responsibility that requires sustained participation and behavioural change at the individual, institutional and community levels.

The speakers also elaborated on the broader message of “Swachhata se Samriddhi”, highlighting the interrelationship between cleanliness, health, productivity, dignity and sustainable development. The session sensitised participants towards adopting responsible and sustainable cleanliness practices in their workplaces and daily lives.

The programme provided an opportunity for officers and officials of this Department to reaffirm their commitment to cleanliness and to contribute towards creating clean, healthy and sustainable surroundings.

The Legislative Department is undertaking various activities during the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026 to promote awareness and encourage active participation in cleanliness and sanitation initiatives, thereby contributing to the vision of a Swachh and Viksit Bharat.
