Regional Centre for organic and natural farming(RCONF) Nagpur, Ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare, government of India organised a two days, national seminar cum exhibition on organic and natural farming in the auditorium of Vasantrao Naik Agricultural Extension Institute -Vanamati Nagpur  during 22-23 February 2025 for promotion of organic farming in the western and central region of India. The objective of the program is to bring, the policy makers, the farmers and the NGO and the organisations/entrepreneurs and all stakeholders involved in organic farming across the states under the jurisdiction of the RCONF Nagpur.

The program consisted of different technical sessions and exhibition in which stalls were set up by different agencies, entrepreneurs and farmers who displayed their activities and the organic and natural produce and products throughout the program. The program was inaugurated by the Chief guest, Sh.Manoj Solanki  National Member, ICAR, New Delhi & the Chairman, Akshay Krishi Parivar, along with the distinguished guests like the state election commissioner and Former joint secretary, INM division Smt. Rani Kumudini (IAS) Ex-Bombay High Court judge justice, Ambadas Joshi, Padmashree Padmashree Awadi Sh . Chintala Venkat Reddy Progressive and patent holding Farmer from Telangana, Sh. Subhash Sharma, another Padma Shree awardee from Yavtmal Maharashtra. Mrs Meena Rajesh ,Vice Chancellor, GH Raisoni University, the DIG/ Director, Sri Hari Om Sharma .The program was convened by Dr. Ajay Singh Rajput, Regional Director, RCONF, Nagpur & chairman of the National seminar and Dr. Praveen Kumar Vootla, Junior Scientific Officer-JSO RCONF Nagpur and coordinator, national seminar, along with the officers and officials of RCONF Nagpur - Dr. Priyanka Mehta JSO, Dr Sarita Kumar Yadav JSO, Dr Swapnil Magar JSO Sri Bihari Lal Sri Ramesh Chand Sri sushilhtalmale Shri Shiv Kumar Patel Shri LK Nayak Smt Shashi Devi Parihar, in collaboration of GH RAISONI UNIVERSITY, Saikheda Dr. Kevin Gawali Dean School of Agriculture Sciences was the coordinator from the university side along with his team Dr. Ambarish, Dr Paresh Bavishkar, Dr Ashutosh Rajoriya, Dr Pushpanjali Dhok, Dr. Chetan Bondre and other faculty of the University.

On the first day, the program started with the inaugural function by the chief guest and other guests by igniting the inaugural lamp. All the guests have addressed the August gathering and congratulated the organisers for convening a spectacular and need of the hour program for encouraging and boosting up the farmers to continue the efforts for the noble causes.

The stalls was inaugurated by Rani Kumudini Former Joint secretary Inm division, New Delhi, around 30 stalls where set up/exhibited with a different organic produce and products, bio fertilisers and organic fertilisers, Bio stimulants different biological control equipment and traps.

The technical session was convened during post lunch session, wherein Dr. Ramanjaneyulu from CSA presented, significance and status of organic& natural farming in India. Later on, Dr. PL Manohari ex deputy director, MANAGE Hyderabad delivered a talk on significance and role of extension workers in promotion of organic farming and natural farming.

The cultural evening organised in the seminar has thrilled the participants with the performance given by the students of agricultural College of GH Raisoni University as the performance was organic farming and Soil Health protection theme based. 

On the second day, field visit to to the model and demonstration Farms of school of agricultural sciences, GH Raisoni University, Saikheda Where the participants have seen different Horticulture crops livestock management tissue culture lab etc.

The third technical session was conducted in the auditorium of Vanamati, where in the eminent speakers, Smt Uma Maheshwari Vyakti Vikas Kendra of India, Hyderabad and Sri Prabhakar thematic lead RYSS Guntur delivered their talk on natural farming with respect to different models of natural farming and APCNF activities and success stories in Andhra Pradesh, respectively.

Special talk on the different dimensions of the natural and organic farming in the country was delivered by Padmashree Awardee Sri Bharat Bhushan Tyagi from Uttar Pradesh. Dr Indrani Mishra Vice-chancellor, Vasant Rao Agriculture University Parbhani addressed and given the direction to the farmers to adopt the natural and organic farming for which at least farmers should start less chemical which may further convert chemical less farming. The stalls were plunged with visitors in full swing simultaneously later on the award ceremony was convened, farmers were awarded with best Farmer award and innovative Farmer award and best state under organic/Natural Farming activity, Best Regional Council Award by the hands of the chief guest of the function, Mrs. Rani Kumudini and other dignitaries along with Padmashree Awardee Tyagi ji and Vice Chancellor Dr Indramani Mishra the program was presided by Dr.Ajay Singh Rajput Regional Director RCONF, Nagpur.

The program was concluded in evening with vote of thanks proposed by Dr Praveen Vootla Coordinator of National Seminar. Participatory certificates were presented to the participants. the participants were Nodal officers of State Agriculture and Horticulture departments, Scientists of CAUS/ SAUs/ICAR-Institutes/KVKs, progressive/champion farmers, farmers, Master Trainers of Resource Agencies selected by INM, NRLM/SRLM women SHGs, members of RC, SPs working under PKVY, buyer representatives and other stakeholders et NDRF team including students of Agriculture Science of G H Raisoni University Saikheda. All the participants expressed thanks to the organizers and requested for organising such seminars in future.
