Mumbai Customs Zone-III Seizes over 4.66 KG Gold & Electronics Valued at Rs. 4.00 Cr across 14 Cases

Between 28 July – 07 Aug, 2024, Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III seized over 4.66 Kg Gold & Electronics valued at Rs. 4.00 Cr across 14 cases. Gold was found concealed in various forms like gold dust in wax, crude jewellery, gold bars in an ingenious way inside, between two layers of clothes, inside the speakers, in the body, and on the body of persons.

One Indian national, resident of Surat, Gujarat travelled by Flight Air India AI-984 from Dubai to Mumbai and was intercepted and 22 KT Crude Gold Kangan (04 Pcs) with net weight 974.000 grams was found concealed on the body of the person. The individual was subsequently arrested.

Twelve Indian nationals, travelling from Dubai (07), Abu Dhabi (02), Doha (01) and Sharjah (02) were intercepted and found to be carrying 24 KT Gold Dust, Gold Jewellery and Electronics items with total net weight of 3182.00 grams which were found concealed between two layers of clothes, in baggage and on the body.

One Foreign national, travelling from Kuala Lumpur was intercepted and found to be carrying 24 KT Crude Gold Kada (1) and Chain (1) with a total net weight 504.00 grams concealed on the body of the person.
