General Elections 2024 Results Announced – Assam’s Overview

: The results of the General Elections to Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) 2024 have been declared. In case of Assam, the elections were held in the 14 PCs over three phaseswitnessing a robust voter turnout which is a testament to the vibrant democratic spirit of Assam's citizens.Out of the 14 PCs, 09 were won by BJP, 03 by Indian National Congress (INC), and 01 each by Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and UPPL (United People’s Party – Liberal).

In terms of the vote share distribution, INC achieved a vote share of 37.48%, slightly more than the 37.43% of BJP.

IN NUMBERS: 2024 Electionsin Assam

  • Voter Turnout: Assam recorded an impressive overall voter percentage of81.56% in 2024 visà-vis 81.60% in 2019. For detailed phase-wise and PC-wise turnout data, please click here.
  • To ensure inclusion of every voter, polling was held in 28,650 polling booths.
  • 1,37,520 polling officials were involved in the smooth conduct of the elections.
  • There were around 20,424 voters aged 85+ years and 9,535 PWD (persons with disability) voters who opted for home voting.
  • Electiontime seizures in Assam crossed Rs. 304.86 crores (approx.) which cash seizures of Rs. 31.35 cr, liquor of Rs. 33.16 cr, drugs and narcotics valued Rs. 209.26 cr and precious metals valued Rs. 29.95 cr.
