Addressing the gathering at the event, Minister Shripad Naik said that it is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a super power by 2047. “But I am sure that the country will be a super power even before 2047 under the able leadership of the PM,” he said. “The Sankalp Yatra is meant to create awareness among the public about the developmental works and welfare schemes brought out by the Modi government in the last 10 years. The yatra will visit all the panchayats in Goa, thus informing every person of the State about the benefits of government schemes. I appreciate all those who are working behind this campaign,” he said.
Talking about the VBSY, Rajesh Faldessai MLA said that the yatra had got tremendous response from his constituency. “All the people in the constituency have to take benefit of the schemes. If we keep on moving ahead in this pace, India will become a developed country by 2047. Schemes are for the benefits of the people, and the benefits should reach each and every person. I have requested all our panch members and sarpanchas to inform each and every household about the yatra and make maximum benefits out of it,” he said.
“We have assigned one officer with the task of coming to the office every Monday to help the people to fill the forms for the central schemes. We assure that under the able guidance of the Prime Minister and our Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, our country will attain the target,” the MLA said.
At the program, a VBSY pledge was taken by all the dignitaries and the other attendees. A health camp was also organised as part of the event with the support of the Directorate of Health Services, government of Goa.
