Let's all come together and build a strong Maharashtra appeals Governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, at the Maharashtra Diwas function

“Our government is committed to the all-inclusive development of the state along with all sections of the society. I appeal to all to come together and resolve to create a new and strong Maharashtra”, said Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais, during the main official ceremony of the 63rd Maharashtra Day in Mumbai.

The National Flag was unfurled by the Governor and salutations were given along with singing of the National and the State Anthem, ‘Jay Jay Maharashtra Majha”. The governor also oversaw the parade.

On the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Ramesh Bais, in his speech first extended Maharashtra Day  greetings to the people of Maharashtra here and all over the world. He also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the creation of United Maharashtra. (Samyukta Maharashtra). He conveyed greetings on the labour day, mentioning that Maharashtra state has been created by the sweat of workers and laborers. Remembering great personalities who shaped the state, Governor Bais said that the achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Gopal Ganesh Agarkar, freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and other great personalities made the state socially enriched.

This year is marked as the 350th year of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj according to the Shiva Shaka calendar. On this occasion, the Governor informed that Shivarajyabhishek Mahotsav will be organized from 2nd to 9th June 2023. As a part of these celebrations, a museum based on the life and journey of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be established on the fort Shivneri. Also, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj thematic park will be developed at Ambegaon near Pune City. He further informed that, May 28, birth anniversary of Swatantraveer Savarkar will be celebrated as “Svatantrya Veer Gaurav Din” by the state government.

The Governor mentioned many important and welfare activities carried out by the state government in his speech. He said that, after the Covid-19 pandemic, emphasis is being given on enhancing employment through reviving the economy. On these lines, a logistic park will be developed in the state for ease of doing business. The State is also focusing on expanding the startup ecosystems. Stating that Maharashtra has set an example in the country by dealing with the three waves of covid with  planned management, the Governor urged the people of the state to be cautious and take care of their health. He further informed that, while celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the process of recruitment of 75 thousand government employees in various departments is taking place at a fast pace. Under this initiative, the recruitment process of 18,331 constables is also in progress to empower the police system of the state.

During The main function at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan in Dadar, Mumbai, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Mumbai Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, State Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal, Additional Chief Secretaries of various government departments, Principal Secretaries along with State Director General of Police Rajnish Seth, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, Additional Director General of Police (Administration) Deven Bharti, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief protocol Officer Manisha Mhaiskar, Principal Secretary of various departments, Secretary, Director General of Information Jayashree Bhoj along with senior government and police officers, senior diplomatic officers of various countries were present.
