Integrating economic growth with welfarism is the hallmark of Modi government : MoS V. Muraledharan

Minister of State for External Affairs Shri V Muraleedharan has said that economic progress leading to welfare of the people is the hallmark of Narendra Modi government . He said the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi has greatly helped the farmers to avoid starvation during the Covid epidemic and crop failure. The Minister was inaugurating the event held at the Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CTCRI ) in connection with Gareeb Kalyan Sammelan held nationwide . He pointed out that during the past eight years, great emphasis has been placed on the agrarian economy, the backbone of the country. As on February this year,  Rs 1.45 lakh crore under the PM Kisan Samman Fund for about 11 crore small farmers in the country. The agricultural budget has multiplied. Agricultural credit has also doubled. A series of measures including PMKisan, KisanRail, MSP, and Crop Insurance are undertaken by narendramodi Govt to double the incomes of our Annadatas & make agriculture more remunerative & viable. Shri. Muraleedharan said guided by the mantra of 'Antyodaya', Narendramodi the government  has been striving for the uplift of the poor and  the downtrodden.

The Minister of State released a special booklet  on the occasion of 8 Years of  Narendra Modi Govt. It  gives a bird's-eye view of the series of reforms & welfare measures undertaken by the Govt in line with its vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat

Around 2000 farmers participated in the event. The  Union Minister felicitated four farmers for their exemplary works in agriculture.  . Dr M.N. Sheela, Director ICAR-CTCRI presided over the function. Shri. V. Palanichami , Additional Director General Shri. V. Palanichamy,  General Manager, SBI, Local Head Office, Shri. V. Seetharaman,  and   Deputy General Manger, NABARD, Shri. James P. George,   Ward Councillor, Smt. Bindu S.R., were present on the occasion .
