Project Pending at CWC.

Based on the request received from various State Governments, appraisal of pre-feasibility report (PFR), detailed project report (DPR) of irrigation and multipurpose projects having inter-state ramifications, as well as flood control schemes, are taken up by Central Water Commission (CWC), in association with concerned Central Government agencies. In addition, revised cost estimates of the above mentioned category of projects are also appraised by CWC, as per the prevailing guidelines. 

State-wise number of the projects presently under appraisal at CWC, are as below:

Above projects are under appraisal at different specialized Directorates of CWC. On successful completion of the appraisal process, the projects are placed before the Advisory Committee on Irrigation, Flood Control and Multipurpose Projects under this Ministry.

 

(c) As per CWC Guidelines, the timeline for completion of examination/ appraisal process is as below:

  • Pre-Feasibility Report-8 weeks
  • DPR with Central Design Organization (CDO) certificate-4 months
  • DPR without CDO certificate-6 months
  • Revised Cost Estimate without change in scope-3 months.

 

       However, adherence to the above timeline depends on the timely submission of compliance and additional requisite information on various technical aspects, sought by CWC and other Central Government agencies during the appraisal process.
