Vistadome Coaches

             Vistadome coaches for various gauges viz. Broad Gauge, Meter Gauge and Narrow Gauge are in operation over Indian Railways network. At present, 33 Vistadome coaches are attached in 23 pairs of trains as under:-

          Manufacture and Induction of more Vistadome coaches in train services is an ongoing process subject to operational feasibility, schedule of the train, traffic justification and availability of rolling stock. 12 LHB Vistadome coaches are under manufacture at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.

 

 

30 Narrow Gauge Vistadome coaches for Kalka Shimla Railway are under manufacture at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Conversion of 10 Narrow Gauge Coaches into Vistadome coaches is underway at Northeast Frontier Railway.

 

This information was given by the Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronic & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
