The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has conducted various awareness programmes under various schemes:-

1. The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has conducted awareness programmes in 34 States/ UTs in 2019-20, 27 States/ UTs in 2020-21 and 31 States/ UTs in 2021-22 at Pan India level for school & college students, high risk groups, NSS & NYKS volunteers, youth clubs, women clubs and other vulnerable groups.
2. National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation(NSFDC) had conducted awareness programmes in 10 states each year from 2019 to 2021.
3. National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) had conducted awareness programmes in 10 states each year from 2019 to 2021.
4. National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) had conducted awareness programmes in 11 states in 2019-20, 13 states in 2020-21 and 7 states in 2021-22.

Ministry has also launched Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) under NAPDDR in 272 identified districts of 32 States/ UTs across the country (including 6 districts of Outer Manipur Parliamenatary Constituency namely Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Senapati, Thoubal, Ukhrul) with an aim to create awareness about ill effects of substance abuse among the youth, with special focus on higher education institutes, university campuses, schools and reaching out into the community and garnering community involvement and ownership of the Abhiyaan.
